I was delighted to go along to the small Dolls House Fair at Yealmpton yesterday. Small was very much the word in both tone and size, as the show is run by Bryn Jones within the Yealmpton Community Centre, in Yealmpton, Devon -15 minutes from Plymouth.

It was a great little show, and we had 13 stands of super miniature items ranging from Dolls Houses from The Dolls House Shop ”In the House That Jack Built” 11 Southside Street, the Barbican, Plymouth to specialised celebration cakes from Karens Miniatures, an interesting range of various items from Wee Tartan Minis, wonderful handmade craftesmen made furniture from Trevellyn Miniatures, plus of course myself as Merry Gourmet Miniatures with our English period Food, Period Kitchen Items and Victorian Advertising China.

The show had a lovely atmosphere, very friendly and warm, and the Community Centre is a credit to the area, being well lit, spacious, wheelchair friendly and in very good repair. The traders even had bacon butties before the fair opened at 10.30am, and chocolate cake from the WI to keep them going plus  it was only £1.50 to get in - a real treat for the visitors.

Bryn will be holding the show again on Sunday 14 September 2008, so watch this space for more news on this fabulous little fair.
